Pepco Energy Services obtained a contract to supply 18 MW to various governments and local agencies in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties in Maryland.

Arlington, Va.-based PES, a subsidiary of Pepco Holdings Inc., estimated the value of the 16-month contract at $5.1 million. It will begin deliveries in September, providing power for street lighting to the two county governments, as well as to 10 cites and towns and the Maryland National Capital Park.

PES estimated that the local governments and agencies will save over $150,000 during the life of the contract.
