Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) is a rapidly growing provider of energy saving solutions such as, Energy Performance Contracting, Thermal Energy Solutions, Electricity Generation and Renewable Energy. We partner with industrial, commercial, educational, health care, and local, state and federal governments to reduce their energy consumption and expenses. We are seeking a Manager, Project Development - Power/Thermal to join our Engineering team. This person, reporting to the Vice President-Engineering, shall be responsible for the development of cogeneration and other power facilities. In this role, this position shall supervise other engineers and shall also work closely with the Sales, Construction, O & M and M & V groups, while leading the project development. The successful candidate will have hands-on project design and/or construction experience with Integrated Power/Thermal (IPT) projects. IPT experience shall be in the 1-25MW range (IC engines and turbines) and includes HRSGs, absorption chillers, and other potential uses of the thermal output. Experience with this size range and technologies are an advantage for the successful candidate.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervising 2 to 6 power thermal engineers
- Reviewing IPT analysis for energy savings
- Conducting and/or reviewing Power/Thermal life cycle cost analysis
- Keeping abreast of available federal, state and local incentives for Power/Thermal projects
- Developing and maintaining relationships with equipment suppliers and installers
- Developing scopes of work for equipment suppliers and installers
- Writing customer’s proposals
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, HVAC or similar discipline. PE license preferred
- 10 to 15 years experience in the power/thermal design business
- Construction experience is a beneficial attribute
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent Word processing and spreadsheet skills
- Proven ability modeling IPT applications using energy modeling programs
- Experience supervising/managing other engineers and technical personnel
- Knowledge of permitting requirements desired
- Willingness to relocate to work out of the Rosslyn, VA office
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project locations
