Senior Project Development Engineer

Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) is a rapidly growing provider of energy saving solutions such as, Energy Performance Contracting, Thermal Energy Solutions, Electricity Generation and Renewable Energy.  We partner with industrial, commercial, educational, health care, and local, state and federal governments to reduce their energy consumption and expenses. We are currently seeking a Project Development engineer to join our Engineering team. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform comprehensive energy and water audits of commercial, institutional, and governmental customers
  • Identify and develop cost savings opportunities and capital upgrades relating to lighting, mechanical and electrical systems, energy management systems, water consuming equipment and fixtures, and building envelope
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work for the opportunities to obtain accurate subcontractor pricing
  • Prepare of budgetary cost estimates and preparation of technical reports
  • Provide technical development assistance to a team of individuals responsible for developing energy related products and services for our customers
  • Assist in all stages of the development process through technical presentations of the proposed projects   

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in energy services
  • Must have extensive knowledge of energy-efficiency technologies and their application
  • Must have experience in energy auditing
  • Professional engineering registration preferred, CEM also preferred
  • Design and construction experience a plus
  • Experience with building simulation
  • Experience with measurement and verification of savings for performance contracts
  • Project cost accounting and estimating experience a plus
  • Must have strong writing and oral communications skills
  • Must be familiar with the use of common energy engineering software
  • Travel required – some overnight (10-15%)
  • Valid drivers' license in state of residence
