Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) is a rapidly growing provider of energy saving solutions such as, Energy Performance Contracting, Thermal Energy Solutions, Electricity Generation and Renewable Energy.  We partner with industrial, commercial, educational, health care, and local, state and federal governments to reduce their energy consumption and expenses. We are currently seeking a Measurement & Verification Intern to join our M&V team. This position assists the Measurement & Verification (“M & V”) Engineer conduct pre- and post installation as well as analysis, on-going M & V services including installation of test instrumentation such as gauges, electrical and mechanical meters, data loggers, etc. This position also manages the inventory of testing equipment and controls the use of that same equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collects, records, downloads and formats data from M & V test equipment
• Assist supervisor with M & V data analysis and presentation

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate
• 2 years of  college level studies with curriculum emphasis on engineering and technology
• Completed College studies in physics and/or intermediate  college mathematics/statistics
• Basic knowledge of electricity and mechanics
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
• Good writing and oral communication skills
• Intermediate skill in the use of MS EXCEL  and MS WORD software.
• Experience with AUTOCAD drawing and ACCESS or equivalent DB client preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to distinguish colors
• Willingness to travel outside the Washington, DC metropolitan area, generally within the mid-Atlantic states
