Business Development Manager, Southwest

Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) is a rapidly growing provider of energy saving solutions such as, Energy Performance Contracting, Thermal Energy Solutions, Electricity Generation and Renewable Energy.  We partner with industrial, commercial, educational, health care, and local, state and federal governments to reduce their energy consumption and expenses.  We are looking for an Account Executive to join our Sales team.  This person will be responsible for executing sales for Pepco Energy Services’ Market Expansion Opportunities within South-Western Region (TX, AR, NM) – State, Local, University and Municipal (MUSH) Markets.  These markets will include commercial segments and traditional state, local and municipal customers within core and expansion territories.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Maintain relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential customers to execute sales
  • Target potential customers, qualify and initiate contact, and develop relationships in order to acquire new accounts
  • Develop call plans, perform sales calls and face-to-face meetings, and secure orders for services
  • Identify and promote pricing strategies to capture customers in targeted markets
  • Interface with project managers, engineers, and executive management to develop, write, and finalize competitive proposals
  • Maintain and update customer contact information, proposals, sales records, and forecasts
  • Interface with procurement and accounts receivable department to verify purchase order terms and conditions and billing information with proposal language
  • Work with marketing and other sales personnel to develop responses to customer RFP’s and in negotiating and developing contracts
  • Determine and assess a customer’s needs, provide solutions, negotiate deals, bring sales to a close (Long sales cycle management)
  • Advise management of pending issues or problems as they arise for resolution
  • Develop pricing project pricing strategies and assist in contact development and negotiations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 3+yrs sales and marketing experience selling technical, engineering, and/or utility services
  • An understanding of ESCO project finance is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet and/or exceed established sales goals and/or quotas
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills demonstrating professionalism, self-confidence, drive, and commitment with the ability to interact appropriately at all levels (including C-Level) within an organization
  • Above average writing skills with the ability to properly format, develop and write sales proposals in addition to Presentation skills; must be proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Availability for travel as necessary with or without notice by car, air, train, and/or public transportation
