Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) is a rapidly growing provider of energy saving solutions such as, Energy Performance Contracting, Thermal Energy Solutions, Electricity Generation and Renewable Energy.  We partner with industrial, commercial, educational, health care, and local, state and federal governments to reduce their energy consumption and expenses. We are looking for an Energy Engineer to join our Engineering team.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Perform comprehensive energy and water audits for commercial, institutional, and government customers
• Identify and develop cost savings opportunities and capital upgrades relating to lighting, mechanical and electrical systems, energy management systems, water consuming equipment and fixtures, and the building envelope. 
• Perform preliminary design of improvements and develop accurate scopes of work that identify all elements that have impact on costs
• Prepare budgetary cost estimates and prepare technical reports. 
• Assist in all stages of the development process through technical presentations of the proposed projects.

• BS degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
• Professional registration and/or CEM preferred 
• Ideal candidates will have extensive knowledge of energy-efficient technologies, their application and energy auditing; familiarity with the use of standard energy engineering software, measurement and verification of savings for performance contracts, and project cost accounting and estimating as well as experience with design, construction, and AutoCAD. 
• Working knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, Visual DOE, Trace, Carrier E20, etc. 
• Must have a valid drivers’ license in state of residence and be able to travel, as required.
